Consent to the Processing of Health Data
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This is a translation for convenience. In case of discrepancies, the German version shall prevail.
In brief (non-binding)
This summary in plain language is non-binding. It is only meant to provide an overview. Only the following text is binding.
Health data are specially protected. We only process them if you expressly consent or a law obliges us to do so.
With this consent, you allow us to prepare your documents and pass them on to the doctors and clinics looking after your case, including abroad.
Some aids work with artificial intelligence, for example translation, the AI interpreter and summaries. For this, data also go to providers in the USA.
Other bodies only receive what they need for their task, such as a pharmacy or an embassy for your visa. We do not pass on anything for advertising.
Consent is voluntary. Without it, however, we cannot organise any treatment.
You can revoke your consent at any time in the portal. What happened before remains lawful.
Each time a case is opened, you release the doctors and clinics of your case from medical confidentiality with a separate checkbox so that they can coordinate with us and with each other. You can also revoke this at any time; your case is then suspended.
§ 1 Controller and purpose of this consent
The controller for the processing is BGGI GmbH, Rostocker Straße 43, 53117 Bonn, operator of the platform “Love Your Life” (“Love Your Life” or “we”). Please direct data protection enquiries to datenschutz@love-you.life.
Health data are specially protected data (Art. 9 DSGVO). We process them on this platform on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a DSGVO), separately from all other consents, for example to the General Terms and Conditions, to the Privacy Policy and to advertising. This consent is requested separately and logged separately.
Another legal basis only applies where a legal rule, an official order or a court decision obliges us to transmit; § 3 para. 2 names these cases.
§ 2 What you consent to
Processing of your medical documents (findings, reports, laboratory and imaging data) and your information in the questionnaires — in the field of beauty also your photos (§ 11) — for case preparation by Love Your Life.
Disclosure of the documents released by you to the clinics and doctors you choose or to whom your case is assigned, including outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, provided that you agree to this in the individual case; you give this agreement for each case together with the city and country of treatment, and both are recorded with your consent. Details on transfers to third countries and on the safeguards are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Optional AI-supported preliminary analysis of your documents for faster case preparation; the results are reviewed by employees of Love Your Life; this review is organisational and not a medical evaluation.
Machine classification of documents that you capture with the document scanner (§ 9).
Machine translation of your messages and texts for communication with Love Your Life, with doctors and with clinics (§ 7).
Use of the AI interpreter in the video call, provided that you request it separately (§ 6), on request with the face of the AI interpreter “Lina” (§ 10).
Transcript and AI summary of a video consultation, provided that you and your doctor each agree with yes before the conversation (§ 8).
Wording suggestions of the AI form-filling aid for medical information in forms (§ 12).
Processing of health information that you enter in writing or by voice in the chat “Love Your Life KI Assistant”, exclusively to answer your question (§ 13).
Access to your case and the associated documents and their processing by the international office of the clinic that looks after your case (§ 4).
Release of the doctors and clinics of your case from medical confidentiality, which you declare separately each time a case is opened (§ 4a).
§ 3 To whom else your data go
Beyond the clinics and doctors named in § 2, your data also go to further bodies. Each receives only what it needs for its task, and only once it has been assigned to your case or you use the service concerned. Every external disclosure is recorded with recipient, time and reason. Without this consent, nothing goes out; if you revoke it, any further disclosure is blocked from that point on.
Authorities and other official bodies receive information if a legal rule, an official order or a court decision obliges us to provide it — for example tax, health and immigration authorities, supervisory authorities and law enforcement authorities. Only what we are obliged to provide is transmitted, and health data only insofar as the obligation expressly covers them. The basis is then not your consent but our legal obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO) in conjunction with Art. 9 para. 2 lit. f or lit. g DSGVO; a revocation therefore does not prevent such a transmission. Unless the law prevents us from doing so, we tell you that we had to disclose information.
Embassies, consulates and other diplomatic missions receive the documents for your visa application if you make use of an invitation letter or our support with the visa. Transmitted are the invitation letter, your passport and personal details, the intended travel period, the confirmation that a treatment is planned and the initial review has been paid, and the information required by the application form of the respective mission. We only state the type and scope of the treatment insofar as the mission requires it; we do not send findings, reports or images. Documents are sent exclusively to an address that is stored and verified by us; nothing goes out to an unverified address.
The transmission to a diplomatic mission takes place at your request and on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a DSGVO); if the seat of the mission is outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, we additionally base the transmission on Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a and lit. b DSGVO. Without consent, we do not prepare any application and do not send any documents; if you revoke it before anything has been sent, the transmission does not take place. The mission alone decides on your application; its own processing of your data is governed by the law applicable to it and lies outside our influence.
Insurers receive your information if you request or take out insurance via the platform, in particular travel health insurance. Transmitted are your name, date of birth, address, travel period and destination as well as the information on your state of health that the insurer requires for the application and, in the event of a claim, the documents it requests for examination. You conclude the insurance contract with the insurer; it processes your data on its own responsibility. The legal basis for health information is your explicit consent (Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a DSGVO), otherwise the processing of your request (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO).
§ 4 The international office of the clinic
Clinics with which Love Your Life cooperates maintain an international office. This office looks after your case within the facility: it receives the request from Love Your Life, assigns it to the responsible specialist department, passes it on to the treating doctor and answers queries.
You consent to the international office of the clinic to which your case is forwarded being allowed to view and process your case and the associated documents to the same extent as Love Your Life and as the treating doctor. This includes the office forwarding individual documents to doctors of the same facility if their professional assessment is needed for your treatment.
The office cannot view internal documents of Love Your Life, price documents addressed to you, or files from a case opening that has not yet been submitted. Every retrieval of a document by the office and every forwarding to a doctor is logged.
No disclosure to another hospital or to third parties outside the facility looking after you takes place on this basis. The clinic is independently responsible for the processing of your data within its facility; details on recipients and on transfers to third countries are set out in the Privacy Policy.
You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future (§ 5). After revocation, the office receives no further access to your case and your documents.
§ 4a Release from medical confidentiality
Doctors and clinics are subject to medical confidentiality (§ 203 of the German Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch) and the professional law applicable to them). So that your case can be organised, treated and invoiced, each time a case is opened you release the doctors and clinics of this case from their medical confidentiality with a separate checkbox, to the extent determined by the following paragraphs. The release is declared and logged separately from this consent; without it a case cannot be opened, because the parties involved could not otherwise coordinate.
The release applies in three directions: the treating doctors and clinics of your case may transmit to Love Your Life findings, reports, cost estimates, invoices and queries concerning your case; Love Your Life may pass on your documents and information to the treating doctors and clinics of your case; and the treating doctors and clinics of your case may exchange information about your treatment with each other.
The release applies only to the parties involved in your case, that is the doctors and clinics to which the case has been forwarded or which treat you, and only to the extent that the information is necessary for your treatment and its invoicing. It does not apply to other bodies, other purposes or other cases; it does not extend the disclosure under § 3.
You can revoke the release at any time with effect for the future, in the portal under data protection or in text form to datenschutz@love-you.life. Upon revocation, the case is suspended: it is medically blocked, and no more information is exchanged between the parties involved until you declare the release again. Your access to the case, reminders, the invoicing of services already provided and refunds continue. Anything transmitted before the revocation remains lawful.
§ 5 Voluntary nature and revocation
Consent is voluntary. Without it, however, the platform cannot provide its core service — the organisation and coordination of medical treatments.
You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future: Portal → Data protection → Consents. The revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out until then. After revocation, your health data are no longer processed and are deleted after expiry of statutory retention periods.
You give and revoke the consents to the AI interpreter, to the storage of its subtitles and to the transcript and summary of a video consultation separately in each case. Without these consents, the video consultation still takes place.
§ 6 AI interpreter in the video call
At your express request, Love Your Life uses an AI interpreter in the video call. The spoken word is captured in short sections, converted into text, translated and reproduced as a voice; meanwhile, the original and the translation appear as subtitles.
ElevenLabs (speech recognition) and Anthropic (translation), both headquartered in the USA, and, for speech output, Google Cloud Text-to-Speech via the European Union endpoint are used for this; only for languages for which no voice is available there, currently Persian, does ElevenLabs generate the voice, and Kurdish appears only as subtitles. The video call itself runs via Daily.co (USA) with media servers in the EU. Details and legal bases are set out in the Privacy Policy.
The audio recording is not stored; it only exists for the duration of the processing of the respective section. The subtitles only exist during the conversation.
Only if you additionally and separately consent are the original and the translation of the spoken sections stored in your case file. This second consent is voluntary and can be revoked separately; a revocation deletes the stored sections.
Only the patient personally can give consent to the AI interpreter. It can be revoked at any time with effect for the future; afterwards, the conversation continues without the AI interpreter, or a human interpreter is called in.
You give your consent to the AI interpreter before the conversation in the same step in which we ask you about the transcript and summary (§ 8). You answer both questions separately with yes or no; one does not depend on the other.
Machine interpreting is not certified and may contain errors. It does not replace a sworn interpreter.
§ 7 Translation of messages and texts
Messages in your case and texts that you submit for translation may contain health data. They are transmitted to Anthropic for machine translation. Without your active consent to the processing of health data, no translation takes place.
The original wording remains stored and is always displayed next to the translation. Every machine translation is labelled as such.
If you choose speech output for the separately bookable text translation, the translation is additionally generated as an audio file by ElevenLabs and stored in your case file.
§ 8 Transcript and AI summary of the video consultation
Sound and image of a video consultation are never stored. If you and your doctor agree, however, the text of what was said is transcribed so that a summary can be created.
After the consultation, the platform uses AI to create a summary — one for you in your language and one for your doctor in their language — with the AI interpreter as well as with a human interpreter or without an interpreter. Your summary appears in your portal with the case no earlier than 10 minutes after the end; you will be notified. It is included in the appointment and costs nothing extra.
This is how the transcript is created: with the AI interpreter, the translated statements — original and translation — are filed as the transcript. Without the AI interpreter, your browser sends your contributions and your doctor's browser sends their contributions to our server; ElevenLabs (USA) converts them into text, and we do not store the sound. Anthropic (USA) creates the summaries from the transcript. The transcript and summaries are stored in encrypted form. As a rule, the conversation contains health data; therefore, all of this only takes place with your explicit consent (Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a DSGVO).
Before the conversation, we ask you and your doctor each for a yes or no. Only if both say yes is the conversation transcribed and summarised. If one side says no, neither a transcript nor a summary is created — for neither side; the consultation still takes place. The microphones of further participants, such as a human interpreter or an accompanying person, are not themselves transcribed; however, what they say may be captured via your microphone or that of your doctor. If you involve an accompanying person, please inform them of this in advance.
The summary is machine-generated and labelled as an AI summary; it does not replace a medical report. It is only intended to reflect what was said in the conversation, but it may contain errors or omissions and is not a diagnosis. The conversation and your doctor's documents remain authoritative; ask if anything is unclear.
Only you can see your summary. The summary for your doctor can only be seen by that doctor and the office of their clinic. The transcript is deleted as soon as both summaries are available, otherwise after the last unsuccessful attempt, in any case no later than 7 days after the conversation. The summaries remain with the case like case documents; their storage period is governed by the Privacy Policy.
You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by replacing your yes with a no. Transcription then stops, no summary of this conversation is created, and any existing transcript is deleted. A summary already created remains with the case; you can request its deletion.
§ 9 Document scanner
If you capture a document with the camera, the sheet is detected and cropped on your device; only then do the pages go to our server, where they are combined into a PDF file.
For classification — type of document, title, date, issuer and language — we transmit information to Anthropic (USA): if text was recognised on your device, exclusively this text; otherwise at most four pages as images, always the first and the last. A finding, a laboratory report or a prescription may also be among them; this processing is therefore covered by this consent (§ 2 para. 4) and does not take place without it.
The classification is an organisational aid. It is not a diagnosis, not a therapy suggestion, not medical advice and not an evaluation of your state of health. The result remains labelled as machine-generated and can be changed.
The individual camera captures are not retained separately after being combined into the PDF file. If the captures do not show a document, nothing is stored.
§ 10 Digital Human (face to the sound)
If you consent to the AI interpreter, it can additionally appear as the photorealistic face of the AI interpreter “Lina”.
The video image of the face is generated by our processor Beyond Presence Inc. Only the already generated sound of the translation and the identifier of the face go to Beyond Presence — not your image, not your voice, not the text of the subtitles and no information about your treatment. The connection runs via a separate video server of Love Your Life that BGGI itself operates in the data centre in Frankfurt am Main; Beyond Presence only receives an access authorisation for the individual video room for this purpose. Processing at Beyond Presence may also take place outside the European Union, in particular in the USA.
Nothing is recorded; the session with the provider ends with the conversation. The Digital Human is an addition to the sound: if it is not available, the voice continues to interpret. Your consent to the AI interpreter remains revocable at any time with effect for the future.
In conversations with patients, we only use the face once a data processing agreement exists with the provider and the data flow, storage, the exclusion of use for training and deletion at the provider have been specified and documented; until then, the voice interprets without a face.
§ 11 Photos in the field of beauty
In the questionnaire for the field of beauty, you can upload photos, for example of the body region concerned and images of previous procedures. Photos may show very personal, including intimate, body regions. They help the doctor to assess your wish.
You consent to Love Your Life storing these photos and making them accessible to the doctors and facilities looking after your case. Your photos are not shown publicly or used for advertising.
If you have agreed to the AI-supported preliminary analysis, photos may be included in it and transmitted to Anthropic (USA) for this purpose. Uploading photos is voluntary; without photos, the medical assessment may be less accurate.
§ 12 AI form-filling aid in forms
If you use the AI form-filling aid in a form, it can suggest wording for medical fields — such as complaints, previous illnesses or medication. For this purpose, we transmit what has been entered in these fields to Anthropic (USA). The same applies if employees of Love Your Life fill in a form relating to your case.
The aid does not invent medical information: suggestions with terms or values that appear neither in the input nor in your stored information are discarded. You decide whether to accept a suggestion. Inputs and suggestions are not stored. Without your consent, medical information does not go to the model; the other suggestions remain possible.
§ 13 Chat with voice
The chat “Love Your Life KI Assistant” answers questions about the platform; it does not give medical advice and does not ask for health data. Please do not enter any health information there.
If you nevertheless do so — in writing or by voice — this information is transmitted to Anthropic (USA) to answer your question and, for a spoken question, to ElevenLabs (USA) for speech recognition; if you have the answer read out to you, Google Cloud Text-to-Speech generates the voice via the European Union endpoint, for Persian ElevenLabs. We do not store sound or text on our servers; questions with recognisable health information are never taken into the answer cache. The history only remains in the memory of your browser tab until you close it.
§ 14 Language versions
This document is available in 24 languages. Only the German version is binding; the other language versions serve comprehension purposes.
You give this consent in the language in which you use the platform; the text is displayed to you beforehand in that language.
