Privacy notice for WhatsApp

This notice supplements our privacy policy. It applies when you write to Love your life via WhatsApp.

What data we process
Your WhatsApp ID (your phone number), the country derived from the dialling code, your language, the time and text of your messages and our replies. We store the ID and the text in encrypted form. We do not download images, voice messages or files; we only record their type. Please do not send health information or documents via WhatsApp; your protected portal is available for that.
Purposes
We answer your enquiry, arrange a call back if you wish and pass your request on to the office responsible for your country. Replies come from the AI assistant Fabian. He does not identify who is writing and gives no information about accounts, cases or appointments. If there are signs of an emergency, he first points you to the emergency number.
Legal basis
Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry prepares or concerns a contract with us, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to answer enquiries that reach us via WhatsApp.
Recipients
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland) as provider of the WhatsApp Business Platform; Google Cloud EMEA Limited (Ireland) as operator of our servers in the Frankfurt am Main data centre; Anthropic (USA) for the replies of the AI assistant, receiving only the course of this conversation; if you ask for a call back, the responsible Love your life office.
Storage location: Germany and the EU
On our platform your messages are stored in encrypted form in the Frankfurt am Main data centre in Germany. For our WhatsApp number we use the local storage of the WhatsApp Cloud API with the region Germany: Meta stores the content of messages at rest in Germany. For delivery, Meta may also process data outside the EU, in particular in the USA; the same applies to Anthropic. These transfers are based on the EU adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and on EU standard contractual clauses.
Retention period
We automatically delete messages that are not linked to a case after 90 days. Our audit trail only records that a message was processed, without the number and without the content.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the data protection authority of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW). The “Data deletion” page explains how to request deletion.

For processing by Meta as the provider of WhatsApp, the WhatsApp privacy policy also applies.
